AI Transparency
Which AI systems DEMENO uses, what they receive, what we keep, and where their output ends.
Last updated: August 22, 2026
1. What Runs on AI
Most of what DEMENO produces is generated by artificial intelligence: image rendering and editing, image enhancement and upscaling, video clips generated from a render, 3D models and walkable worlds reconstructed from photographs and captures, photo-to-CAD line extraction, and the assistants that help you write prompts, propose design directions or direct a clip.
The 3D Viewer, the site context, the sun study and the CAD export are not generative: they compute geometry from your model and from map data and do not invent content.
2. Which Models and Providers
We do not train or host our own foundation models. Your input is processed by third-party AI models from established providers through their commercial APIs, and in some cases on infrastructure we operate ourselves. Which provider handles which tool changes as models are retired and replaced, so we do not publish a per-tool list here — an outdated list would be less accurate than none. The categories of data our providers receive and where they are located are described in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
If you need to know which provider handled a specific tool — for a procurement or data-protection review — ask us (Section 9) and we will tell you.
Runs on your device: the click-to-select tool runs its segmentation model locally in your browser where your browser supports it. In that case the image is not uploaded for this step.
3. Your Content Is Not Used to Train Models
Nothing you upload, type or generate on DEMENO is used to train AI models. We train none ourselves, and we do not make your content available to anyone else for that purpose. This commitment is part of our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Our providers process your images and prompts to produce your result; we use their commercial API terms for that processing. We do not make statements about a provider's internal practices that we cannot verify ourselves.
4. You Own the Output
You keep ownership of everything you upload, and we claim no ownership of what the Service generates for you. Generated renders, models, clips and CAD files are yours to use, including commercially, under the conditions set out in Section 6 of our Terms of Service. The same section explains why we cannot guarantee copyright protection for AI-generated work, and that similar inputs can yield similar outputs for other users.
5. How Long We Keep Things
Images you upload and results you generate stay in your project library until you delete them or close your account; they count toward your plan's storage allowance. Three exceptions have fixed deadlines:
- Video clips are stored for 7 days after generation and then deleted. The tool says so before credits are charged; download a clip to keep it.
- Files processed without an account, where we offer that, are deleted 7 days after upload.
- Usage counters tied to an IP address hold only a keyed hash of the address, never the address itself, and are deleted after 12 months.
Our providers receive your content only for the duration of processing your request. Retention periods for account data are listed in our Privacy Policy.
6. What Happens When the AI Fails
Credits are charged before a model runs, because the model costs us money whether or not it delivers. They come back when it does not: a render that returns your input image essentially unchanged is detected and refunded instead of being placed on your board; a request that the provider rejects after the charge is refunded, on every paid tool; and a video clip that the provider declines is refunded and the message on screen says so. A result that is merely not to your taste is not a failure in this sense — generative output varies between runs, and that variation is part of the tool.
7. Limits of AI Output
Everything generated on DEMENO is a visualisation, not a measurement. Renders show a plausible building, not the one that will be built; reconstructed 3D models and worlds approximate shape and surface from photographs and are not survey data; extracted CAD lines need to be checked against the original drawing before they are used for anything that depends on dimensions. Generated content does not constitute technical documentation, construction drawings, planning documents or architectural advice, as our Terms of Service set out.
The sun study is a visual argument, not a compliance daylight report. Where a formal study is required, use it to arrive prepared, not to replace the study.
8. Labelling of AI-Generated Images
Files you download from DEMENO do not currently carry a machine-readable mark identifying them as AI-generated. We are preparing machine-readable marking of AI-generated images in line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act ahead of its 2 December 2026 application date. Such marking will not affect your usage rights under Section 6 of our Terms of Service. When you publish generated images, you remain responsible for any disclosure your own jurisdiction or your client requires.
